The morion helmet, also known as a capacete, was widely used during the 16th century, famously associated with the Spanish Tercios and the Conquistadors. Lightweight yet resistant, it left the face uncovered, allowing better vision and breathing.
This helmet featured a slightly conical shape with a sharp crest and a wide brim pointed at the front and back, designed to deflect blows. It was used not only by infantry but also by knights and notable figures across Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries.
